Mechirat Chametz – Passover 2011
For the week of Passover the Torah not only prohibits eating chametz, but also owning owning chametz and having it in your possession. In addition to burning the chametz or performing the bittul / annulment, many Jews remove chametz from their possession by clearly allocating certain areas of their house (or the entire house) to be sold to a non-Jew and all the chametz therein.
While individuals are free to sell on their own, many people designate the Rabbi to act as their agent to sell the chametz on their behalf. If you would like Rabbi Yuter to be your agent, please fill out and mail the PDF form or use the online form below. All forms should be submitted no later than Sunday April 17th.
The deadline has passed to designate Rabbi Yuter to sell chametz.
