New Class Schedule At The Stanton Street Shul!

The Stanton Street Shul is proud to launch its new adult learning program featuring two exciting new class series by Rabbi Josh Yuter.

How Halakhah Works – Sunday Mornings 9:00am
All of Jewish life and practice is defined by halakhah, but few understand the processes by which Jewish practice has (and has not) developed over the centuries. In this fundamental class on Judaism, Rabbi Yuter will explore the sources, processes, and perspectives which define Jewish practice and identity.

Upcoming Topics:
10/21: The Legislative Process and Disputes
10/28: Halakha V’Ein Morin Kein – The Laws Which Should Not Be Taught
11/4: Humrot / Stringencies
11/11: Mar’it Ha’ayin – How Not to be Seen

Current Jewish Questions – Wednesday Evenings 8:00pm
Every generation of Jews must confront the challenges of their era and ours is no exception. New situations demand new analysis, but these debates often serve to confuse more than clarify. In this exciting and relevant new series, Rabbi Yuter will discuss and analyze the religious sources underlying the Jewish issues of today. Each week will cover a different topic in response to the current events in the Jewish world.

Upcoming Topics:
10/24: Art and Judaism
10/31: Elections
11/7: Jewish Dress
11/14: Intellectual Property
11/21: Non-Jewish / Secular Holidays

Classes are open to men and women of all backgrounds. Audio recordings of all classes will be posted with source sheets online. To request a class topic please email Rabbi Yuter at rabbi@stantonstshul.com.
