Simchat Torah Women's Torah Reading

Please join us on Friday morning, Oct. 13, 10:20 am, to dance with the Torah and to participate in a Simchat Torah women's reading where all women can get an aliyah.

Hakafot will begin in the main sanctuary, with women and men dancing and singing in separate circles with the Torah. Immediately following hakafot, all women are invited to take part in our women's- only Torah reading. We will repeat the reading of V'zot Habracha until every woman who wants an aliyah has received one. (If you've never had an aliyah before and are uncertain how it works, don't worry, we will walk you through it!
(Questions? email women@stantonstshul.com.)

StantonKIDS: Dance and Sing this Shabbat

Join StantonKIDS this Saturday, October 14, from
10:30am-12pm
for some post-Simchat Torah fun

Our inspiring StantonKIDS programming, run by early-childhood professionals, offers inclusive, innovative activities that engage children to learn about holidays through prayer, song and interactive, experiential activities. Join us this Saturday to celebrate the end of Sukkot and the start of a new Torah reading cycle. We'll be singing, waving flags, and tasting holiday-themed snacks to start off this New Year (5778). Kids of all ages are invited to participate in learning about hakafot (dancing with the Torah).

What could be better than learning about the Torah in a festive atmosphere, where kids get to move around while rejoicing? So bring yourselves, and your friends with children, and spread the word!

Volunteering at Stanton

One of the many strengths of our shul is the variety and multiple talents and abilities of our congregants. It takes a lot to run our shul and our programming, and we can probably use your help. Are you a tech guru, web design aficionado, or social media wiz? A master event planner, fundraiser, or program coordinator? An accountant, lawyer, or investment professional? A trained carpenter, electrician, or contractor? If you have any of these or other skills, professional or amateur, that you'd like to contribute to Stanton, speak to Rabbi Bodner, Rivky Friedman, or another member of the board, and let's think about how we can help make Stanton flourish together.

Planned Giving at Stanton

Looking for a way to give back to Stanton, not right now, but maybe at some point in the future? Consider planning a long-term gift to the shul. We encourage anyone interested in discussing various ways to plan a gift now that will be given in the future to contact Board members Michael Gordon or Rivky Friedman, or Rabbi Bodner. There are many ways to go about planned giving and we are happy to discuss the various options that might work for you.
