The Stanton Street Shul Gala 2025
Please join us as we embark on our 1st in-house Gala in 5 years!
An anonymous donor will provide up to $36,000 matching funds for this gala.
We will be Installing Rabbi Benjamin Birkeland, honoring pillars of our shul- David & Rivky Friedman and David & Aliza Deutsch--and presenting a Community Award to Leslie Levinson.
Rabbi Birkeland joined our shul, originally, as a devoted and learned member. For the past year, however, he has served as our Rabbi, leading the congregation with grace and compassion. Through prayer, study, and inspiration, Rabbi Birkeland has benefited our shul community. His weekly class and D’vrei Torah are consistently thoughtful. We are grateful to be gifted with his presence.
David and Rivky have been backbones of our shul for many years. David is the Gabbai who does an amazing job at davening as well. His Sim Shalom can bring tears to one's eyes. Rivky is a former President of the Shul and an expert leiner in the Woman’s Tefillah Group. She is a committed member, and supporter and is always generous with her time.
David and Aliza are long-standing, generous members of our shul. David cheers us on with his limitless humor while Aliza, a morning Daf Yomi learner, teaches in the StantonKids program, and oversees the Woman’s Tefillah Group.
Community Service Award - Leslie Levinson has been a tireless educator for the StantonKIDS program, always coming up with new ideas for engaging children.
