Guest Speaker: Rabbit Jennifer Geretz - "The Original Meaning of Jewish Time"

Rabbanit Jennifer Geretz, a Yeshivat Maharat student serves our community as a Rabbinic Advisor by answering halakhic questions relating to Taharat Hamishpacha, the area of Jewish Law that relates to marriage, sexuality, ritual immersion, women's health, and more.  Members of the Stanton Street Shul are invited to ask Rabbanit Jennifer any and all questions on these subjects.

We are excited to welcome her on Wednesday evening, February 7th, All are welcome to attend, pizza will be served! Please RSVP using the form below.

We encourage you to come to meet her in person and give a warm Stanton welcome to Rabbanit Jennifer, and we especially encourage shul members to take advantage of her expertise on matters of Taharat Hamishpacha in the coming year.

Rabbanit Jennifer Kotzker Geretz grew up in the small Jewish community of Pensacola, Florida. Jennifer graduated cum-laude from Brandeis University with a BA in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies. Jennifer's undergraduate thesis, "Perspectives on the Agunah Problem," was awarded high honors as well as Brandeis' Lester Martin award for Legal Studies. Jennifer's love of teaching and experiential education has served her well in Jewish pre-schools, community schools, and summer camps.  Jennifer's interest in alternative education methodologies for Orthodox day schools led her to co-found and co-direct Yeshivat Netivot Montessori, an infant through 8th grade Orthodox Day School located in East Brunswick, New Jersey. Jennifer has written for many years on the intersection of Jewish religious thought and women's role in Judaism. Jennifer is a second-year student at Yeshivat Maharat. She lives in West Orange, New Jersey with her children and husband Rabbi Daniel Geretz.
