Shana Tova!
The new year is almost here and we can't think of a better way to celebrate it than having a festive holiday dinner in the basement of our little tenement shul. Join us for this dinner at the cutest little synagogue in the LES, we'd love to have you.
Rosh Hashana services will begin at 6:49 pm, dinner will start at approximately 7:30 pm. If you haven't signed up for our High Holiday Services, now is a great time to do so.
Due to the high demand and lack of space, registration will close on September 16 at 7:00 pm unless we sell out earlier. Please register for the dinner ($30 members, $35 non-members, $100 very appreciated sponsors, includes dinner for two) using the form below.
It is a known custom to have a Rosh Hashana Seder during the first meal; a number of foods are eaten (simanim) to symbolize our prayers and hopes for a sweet new year. Many of these foods were specifically chosen because their Hebrew names are related to other Hebrew words that convey our wishes for the coming year. We will hopefully have pomegranates, carrots, leak, beets, apples and honey, beans, and another thing: a fish head. Feel free to bring any other simanim that you are used to having at home.
Questions? Want to help us with set-up or another volunteer role? Email us at office@stantonstshul.com.
