Update by Chesed/Social Justice Committee
Rabbinic Intern Emily Goldberg Winer organized a Chesed/Social Justice event last week to create food packages for those in need. On Thanksgiving morning, fifteen people prepared sandwiches, packed to-go bags, and wrote heartfelt Thanksgiving messages at shul. Parents and kids and old and new neighbors joined together to create a beautiful mitzvah for those who are hungry. We packed over 65 bags and delivered them to local Friendly Fridges on the LES, Staten Island, and near subways in the neighborhood. Interested in more chesed opportunities? More to come asap!
