New Time for Kabbalat Shabbat, 5:20pm (and Learning Before That)
Now that we've changed the clocks, sundown is coming much earlier. But who wants to eat dinner at 5:00pm? For those who prefer to daven on the later side, we're holding Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv at 5:20pm every Friday night through the Winter months. And if you're looking for something to do between candle lighting and services, how about joining Rabbi Bodner to learn gemara? Class will meet every Friday starting about 10 minutes after candle lighting.
Chanukat HaBayit at the Bodners' New Home
Rabbi Aviad and Lindsey Bodner cordially invite you to their new place for a chanukat habayit (dedication of the home), on Saturday night, November 12, at 6:30 - 9:30pm.
We're counting down the days until our exciting Evening to Benefit the Historic Stanton Street Shul on Tuesday! Those who registered are in for some special treats, including a performance by world-renowned klezmer artist Alicia Svigals, cocktails, and a themed dinner with some fun surprises in store.
Registration has closed but there is still time to make a contribution in honor of our friends April Stewart Klausner and Paul Klausner, who will recieve our Tikkun Olam Award, and Wendy Chin and David Tuchman who will receive our Nachshon Young Leadership Award.
All proceeds will benefit the Stanton Street Shul Building Fund to help repair and restore our historic building. Click here to make a contribution.
The next StantonKIDS program will be on Shabbat morning, November 19, at 10:30am. All children are invited for songs, prayers, games and snacks.
This month's program is sponsored by Zipporah and Jason Nagel in honor of the recent birth of their daughter Maya, and to show appreciation for their children Jonah and Gabriella's remarkable StantonKIDS teachers.
Our children's programs are recommended for kids aged 3-6 but all are welcome. For more information, questions or to RSVP, email kids@stantonstshul.com.

Post-High Holidays Reckoning: Have You Fulfilled Your Pledges?
By now you're probably back into your weekly routine after the extended High Holidays season. Perhaps you've banished apples and honey from your repertoire of snacks, silenced the phantom shofar blasts that you kept thinking you heard for a while, and finally resisted the urge to beat your chest every time you cop to wrong-doing.
Feel good about striking one more thing off your to do list, freeing yourself from another unfulfilled vow you'd have to cancel and atone for next Yom Kippur, and supporting the warm and welcoming Stanton Street Shul, which greatly appreciates your generosity.
Volunteering at Stanton
One of the many strengths of our shul is the variety and multiple talents and abilities of our congregants. It takes a lot to run our shul and our programming, and we can probably use your help. Are you a tech guru, web design aficionado, or social media wiz? A master event planner, fundraiser, or program coordinator? An accountant, lawyer, or investment professional? A trained carpenter, electrician, or contractor? If you have any of these or other skills, professional or amateur, that you'd like to contribute to Stanton, speak to Rabbi Bodner, Rivky Friedman, or another member of the board and let's think about how we can help make Stanton flourish together.
Planned Giving at Stanton
Looking for a way to give back to Stanton, not right now, but maybe at some point in the future? Consider planning a long-term gift to the shul. We encourage anyone interested in discussing various ways to plan a gift now that will be given in the future to contact Board members Michael Gordon or Rivky Friedman, or Rabbi Bodner. There are many ways to go about planned giving and we are happy to discuss the various options that might work for you.
The Stanton Street Shul is proud to be a member synagogue of The Downtown Va'ad!
