On the Shabbat of January 20-21, we will be hosting special guests Rabbi Joe Wolfson and Corinne Shmuel, the JLIC couple at NYU, and their daughter Mika!

Rabbi Wolfson will share words of Torah during at a community dinner on Friday night, Jan. 20, and after services on Shabbat morning, Jan. 21.

Services will begin Friday night at 5:20 pm, and dinner will start at approximately 6:00 pm. Registration will close on January 17 at 7:00 pm unless we sell out earlier. Click here to register for the dinner. The cost is $30/person for Stanton members, and $35/person for non-members. $100 sponsorships, which include dinner for two, are available.

Children of all ages are invited to our next StantonKIDS program on Shabbat morning, January 21, at 10:30am. Morah Laura Weisblatt and Morah Aliza Deutsch will lead the program and teach about the holiday of Tu B'shvat, the New Year for Trees, with fun, fruit-related activities!  This month's StantonKIDS program is generously sponsored by Jon and Liz Miller.

Also, save the date for a fun Purim celebration on Sunday, February 26! More details to come. (We will also have a Shabbat program in March right before Purim.)

Twenty and thirty-somethings are invited to a Young Professionals Shabbat dinner on February 3! The dinner will be hosted by Natan Wise, Simon Chafetz, Sarah Lazaros, Becky Miller and Elan Kugott.

Registration will close on January 31 at 7pm, unless we fill up earlier. This event is likely to sell out so don't wait until the last minute to sign up!

Our next Women's Tefilah will be on Shabbat morning, February 11, Parashat Beshalach. Services will begin at 9:30am (same time as the regular minyan) in the beit midrash downstairs. All women are invited to attend!

Who makes the best cholent? On Friday night, February 24, you get to throw your beans into the ring and compete for the title of best cholent maker on the Lower East Side. Or, if cooking with crockpots isn't your thing, you get to taste the entries and decide. Save the date and stay tuned for more info!

One of the many strengths of our shul is the variety and multiple talents and abilities of our congregants. It takes a lot to run our shul and our programming, and we can probably use your help. Are you a tech guru, web design aficionado, or social media wiz? A master event planner, fundraiser, or program coordinator? An accountant, lawyer, or investment professional? A trained carpenter, electrician, or contractor? If you have any of these or other skills, professional or amateur, that you'd like to contribute to Stanton, speak to Rabbi Bodner, Rivky Friedman, or another member of the board and let's think about how we can help make Stanton flourish together.

Looking for a way to give back to Stanton, not right now, but maybe at some point in the future? Consider planning a long-term gift to the shul. We encourage anyone interested in discussing various ways to plan a gift now that will be given in the future to contact Board members Michael Gordon or Rivky Friedman, or Rabbi Bodner. There are many ways to go about planned giving and we are happy to discuss the various options that might work for you.
