Annual Membership Meeting and Meeting to Elect Shul Trustees on Sunday, June 4

The Stanton Street Shul's Annual Membership Meeting is your chance to hear about all that is going on in the shul, ask questions, elect shul board members and vote on other shul-related matters.

This year's meeting will take place on Sunday morning, June 4. Join us for Shacharit services at 9am, followed by breakfast and the meeting at 9:30am.

The membership meeting is open only to shul members in good standing. See below for more about membership dues. This year we will be electing up to five board members -- increasing the total number of trustees to 13 -- and voting on four proposed amendments to our bylaws.

Click here for more information about the meeting, including proxy forms (in case you cannot make it to the meeting) and nominating forms (in case you want to nominate yourself or someone else to the board.)

If you are not sure if you are a member, or have other questions about membership, email board@stantonstshul.com.

RENEW YOUR SHUL MEMBERSHIP BY JUNE 1
Membership Rates for 2017-18

Membership in the Stanton Street Shul is the best way to support our synagogue and community. We rely on your membership dues to enable our prayer services, classes, kids programming, women's services, and other programs. Membership also gives you access to all the shul has to offer, including discounted rates for community events and more.

If you are not yet a shul member, now's the time to become one! Our new membership cycle began on June 1. Click here to sign up!

If you are a current shul member, now is the time to renew your membership by paying your annual dues! Click here to pay your membership dues online, or send a check to Stanton Street Shul, P.O. Box 1008, New York, NY 10002. (If you plan to attend the membership meeting we must have your check in-hand at the meeting.)

In order to offset increased operating costs, the board has voted to implement a small, stagggered increase in dues over the next two membership cycles.

The rates for the coming membership year, 2017-18, which begins on June 1, will be:

Patron Membership: $1800

Family Membership: $600

Individual Membership: $300

Out-of-Town Membership (does not include voting rights): $180

The rates for the 2018-19 Membership Year will be:

Patron Membership: $2000

Family Membership: $700

Individual Membership: $350

Out-of-Town Membership (does not include voting rights): $180

The increase in dues is meant to maintain the fiscal health of the shul and not to be a barrier to membership. If these rates present a financial hardship to you, please speak to Rabbi Bodner or to a member of the board to work out an individual arrangement.

StantonKIDS and StantonTOTS, June 10-11

Our next FREE StantonKIDS program will be on Shabbat morning, June 10, at 10:30am. Bring kids of all ages for prayers, games, snacks, and fun with our talented StantonKIDS teachers.

On Sunday, June 11, babies and tots aged 0-24 months are invited to our next StantonTOTS program with songs, arts & crafts, and other activities for little ones. Snacks for parents and kids will be served. The cost is $15/child.

For more info and for sponsorship opportunities, email kids@stantonstshul.com. For the complete StantonKIDS and StantonTOTS schedule, click here.

Women's Tefilla & Bat Mitzvah on June 17

Our next women's tefilah will be for Parashat Shlach on Shabbat morning, June 17, beginning at 9:30am (same time as the regular minyan).

We are very excited to be celebrating the bat mitzvah of Sydney Fahn, who will be reading Torah and leading part of the services in honor of this milestone. All women are invited to join us!

If you have questions or would like to get involved in Women's Tefilah at Stanton, please email women@stantonstshul.com.

Volunteering at Stanton

One of the many strengths of our shul is the variety and multiple talents and abilities of our congregants. It takes a lot to run our shul and our programming, and we can probably use your help. Are you a tech guru, web design aficionado, or social media wiz? A master event planner, fundraiser, or program coordinator? An accountant, lawyer, or investment professional? A trained carpenter, electrician, or contractor? If you have any of these or other skills, professional or amateur, that you'd like to contribute to Stanton, speak to Rabbi Bodner, Rivky Friedman, or another member of the board and let's think about how we can help make Stanton flourish together.

Planned Giving at Stanton

Looking for a way to give back to Stanton, not right now, but maybe at some point in the future? Consider planning a long-term gift to the shul. We encourage anyone interested in discussing various ways to plan a gift now that will be given in the future to contact Board members Michael Gordon or Rivky Friedman, or Rabbi Bodner. There are many ways to go about planned giving and we are happy to discuss the various options that might work for you.
