  • Mazal Tov to Suzanne Goldenberg and Moe Nemes on their wedding last week!
  • Mazal to to Paul and Phyllis Ruffer on the Bar Mitzvah of their grandson Mordechai Yaacov Landa (son of Yael and Benyamin Landa).
  • Condolences to Moshe Bloxenheim on the loss of his father, Rabbi Chaim Bloxenheim.
  • Condolences to the Getzler family on the loss of their mother, Irene Getzler.

It was a busy week at the Stanton Street Shul. 

 

On Tuesday night (April 17) we hosted a Yom Hazikaron memorial ceremony in honor of the fallen soldiers of the IDF in Hebrew. Over 100 Israelis and Hebrew speakers came to honor their memory. Thank you to community member Nissim Sade for operating the equipment, to Zur Apter for providing security and to tens of others who made this evening a success.

 

On Wednesday night (April 18) Sixth Street Community Synagogue joined us for a celebratory Tefillah for Israel's 70th Independence Day, led by Rabbis Gavriel Bellino and Aviad Bodner. A light Israeli dinner followed services (generously sponsored by Barbara and Shelly Wieder, Laura and Sam Weisblatt and Stephanie and Roman Fichman.) We also celebrated Laura Weisblatt's birthday with a caked baked by Lindsey Bodner.

 

On Thursday morning (April 19) we met again for Shacharit with Hallel. Breakfast was sponsored by Peretz Berk and Erik Leung. Thank you Avi Sosa for the bagels and Risa Gerstein for setting up.

Women's Tefillah for Parashat Emor: Shabbat Morning, May 5

All women are invited to participate in our next Women's Tefilah and Torah reading for Parashat Emor, on Shabbat morning, May 5.

Services will begin at 9:30am and will take place downstairs in the beit midrash. If you would like to layn, lead services, or give a d'var Torah, or if you have questions, send an email to women@stantonstshul.com.
