Community News

  • We are looking forward to receiving the new pews in several months and having comfortable seating at Stanton. In the meantime, we are in the process of selling our current pews. If you are interested in purchasing a pew, please contact Jeff Katz at jeff.katz48@gmail.com.
  • The renovation of the sanctuary and the balcony commenced this Monday morning and is on schedule. The shul is a construction site and for this Shabbat we will only use the downstairs social hall.  This week the balcony mechitza wood panels, the window frames and sills, and the doors have been sanded and primed for painting next week.  Colors have been coordinated between the our architect and our resident artists.  The balcony walls are being readied for an art exhibit that is to be displayed on November 18.  Much of the old gas piping has been removed and the walls will be freshly plastered, primed and painted. The balcony platforms on both sides are being removed and the brass railing is being polished. On Friday, October 26 we will return to the main shul to greet our new rabbinic intern and the following day the shul will once again resume the work until early November. See pictures below.
