Women's Tefillah for Parashat Chayei Sarah: Shabbat Morning, November 3

All women are invited to participate in our next Women's Tefilah and Torah reading for Parashat Chayei Sarah, on Shabbat morning, November 3.

Services will begin at 9:30 am and will take place downstairs in the beit midrash.

Veterans Day Lecture - Rabbi Andrew Scheer - Shabbat, November 10

Join us on Shabbat morning, Nov 10, following kiddush for a lecture by Rabbi Andrew Scheer titled: "100 Years Since the War to End All Wars: The Jewish View on American Military Service"

 

Rabbi Andrew Scheer served 5 years as a Chaplain Candidate in the US Army Reserve, finishing with a rank of 1st Lieutenant. He spent five years with the 354th Movement Control Battalion based out of Fort Totten, NY. For three of those years, he was detailed to the United States Military Academy at West Point serving as Chaplain for Alpha Company during Cadet Basic Training and as a liaison to the Jewish Chapel during the academic year. In 2014, he co-led the only Taglit-Birthright trip solely composed of cadets, midshipmen, zoomies and other students from America's Service Academies. Since being honorably discharged from the military, Andrew has served as the Jewish Chaplain for the VA-NY Harbor Healthcare System comprised of VA hospitals in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
