On December 3rd, the Stanton Street Shul will participate in #GivingTuesday, a global day to celebrate philanthropy and giving back. Join the movement by making a donation to our Shul. Give between now and December 3rd and double your donation's impact! Generous donors Peretz Berk and Erik Leung, Elissa Sampson, April Stewart Klausner and Paul Klausner have agreed to match your contributions dollar for dollar up to $3000, when you give before #GivingTuesday.
Have you been wondering how might you contribute to the functioning of the Stanton Street Shul? We are recruiting one or two people to chair the Stanton Security Committee.
Responding to the insecure environment we live in, the rise in anti-Semitic incidents, and the concerns of our congregants, the Board recently undertook the installation of a security system including security cameras and monitors. We need a committee chair(s) to oversee monitoring the cameras, developing an evacuation plan, and planning a fire drill. You will have the full support of the Board.
At its core, the Stanton Street Shul is a place for prayer. Despite our spirited tefillot, we've had trouble getting a minyan in recent weeks. Please help by attending Friday night minyan at 5:15 pm and Shabbat morning minyan at 9:30 am, so that our community members saying kaddish can say kaddish with the kehillah.
This Shabbat (Toldot) will be very challenging since many of us will be away for Thanksgiving. If you are remaining in the city, please make it your business to come to Shul. Please email Paul Ruffer if you’re in town and able to be at Shul Friday evening and Shabbat morning.
While being a small, intimate community is our strength, it is also our challenge when it comes to things like making a minyan. You matter and we need you, so come and bring friends!
Get to Know Rabbinic Intern Jason Goldstein: Next Visit on December 6-7 (Date Changed)
Our rabbinic intern, Jason Goldstein, rabbinical student at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, will return to Stanton for Shabbat Vayeitzei, December 6-7.
If you are able to provide hospitality or meals during one of Rabbi Jason's Shabbatot at Stanton, please email board@stantonstshul.com.
Kiddushes are a joyous way to celebrate Shabbat and bring together our members and friends-- with good food and drink. Celebrate a birthday, anniversary or other event, commemorate a yahrzeit, or show appreciation for the extraordinary work being done in this Shul. We would love to share your special occasions.
We rely on your generosity to keep us going with weekly prayer services, kiddushes, children's programming, classes, women's tefilah, arts and cultural programs, and other events. Click here to donate!
