Next Shabbat - Shabbat Dinner in French! - Dec 14

Après les Shabbats israélien, russe, mexicain, éthiopien...etc il ne manquait plus qu'un bon dîner de shabbat français. On parle évidemment de cuisine bien de "chez nous" : une bonne salade cuite, un poisson de shabbat, une chakchouka, des boulettes.... On organise donc un petit Shabbat français le vendredi 14 décembre à la Stanton Street Schul. Stanton est la plus vieille synagogue en activité downtown, un bijou d histoire au coeur du Lower East Side. Ce sera l'occasion de nous y réunir dans une ambiance bon enfant, chaleureuse et détendue...

MusiKef - Music Class for Toddlers on Wednesday Afternoons - Through Dec 19

MusiKef is a series of music and dance classes for kids 1 to 3 years old, focusing on Israeli and Jewish traditions and songs, giving the kids a little taste of Israel through the introduction of the Hebrew language.

Join us on Wednesday afternoons at 4:00 pm (Only 2 sessions left -Dec 12 and 19.) Kids will have Kef (fun) listening to music, singing, moving around, and experiencing new things!

$10 per class for shul members or Olam Katan students $20 per class for non shul members. Click here to register.

Talk and Historical Neighborhood Walking Tour of the Lower East Side - Shabbat, Dec 22

Join us for a talk followed by a walking tour of the Stanton Street Shul and the surrounding area led by Dr. Elissa Sampson for Yiddish New York. You'll learn about the neighborhood's historic synagogues, old tenements, landsmanshaftn, and visit a community garden that tells a tale of the LES's evolution. Bring your walking shoes! The talk will run from 1-1:30PM, with the walking tour from 1:30-2:30PM (if it rains, we'll spend more time inside). This event is free.

Women's Tefillah for Parashat Beshalach: January 19

All women are invited to participate in our Women's Tefilah and Torah reading for Parashat Beshalach, on Shabbat morning, January 19.  

Services will begin at 9:30 am and will take place downstairs in the beit midrash. If you would like to layn, lead services, or give a d'var Torah, or if you have questions, send an email to women@stantonstshul.com.

Pre-Purim Costume Gala in honor of Jeff Katz

For the past couple of years, Jeff Katz has tirelessly worked his magic on our formerly tired 106 year old building, bringing it back to shining life. On March 17, Stanton members and friends will gather, in costume, at the Shul to honor Jeff. The funds we raise will finance current and future work on the Shul's sanctuary and balcony space. Save the Date for an amazing evening.
